Happy St. Patrick's Day
This is a short newsletter to celebrate some things Irish or at least Green. Don't forget to read about our iPod shuffle give away during the Hampton Bays' St. Patrick's Day Parade.
Before the fun stuff here's a link to Apple's Environmental page where they put forth their green credentials. Their computers are getting greener all the time and, of course, that's a good thing.
Important Update for MacBook Owners
Battery Update 1.4 for MacBooks - Apple has released a firmware update for 13" MacBook computers. The update addresses battery problems. According to the description from Apple, the update improves the computer's ability to maintain a charge when the system is shut down. This update applies to all MacBook models (Black and White as well as Aluminum), and is not for any Pro or Air models. This update is not necessary for any MacBook that has a "Pack Lot Code" of "0003" (this can be looked up in "System Profiler" which is in the Utilities Folder, under the "Power" section).
The update should be available through Software Update, though can also be downloaded here.

St. Patty's Day Links
Here are some links to sites about how we came to celebrate St. Patrick's Day and who St. Patrick was and general info on Ireland.
From Slate Magazine: "Today we raise a glass of warm green beer to a fine fellow, the Irishman who didn't rid the land of snakes, didn't compare the Trinity to the shamrock, and wasn't even Irish."
From history.com: "The first St. Patrick's Day parade took place not in Ireland, but in the United States. Irish soldiers serving in the English military marched through New York City on March 17, 1762."
Here's a tale of "Irish Coffee". From the Shannon Airport in Ireland to the Buena Vista in San Francisco.
